Photo: ACNHavana, July 4th. - In the presence of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, officials detailed today the scope of the increase in salaries to the budgeted sector and answered questions raised by the population in social networks and official government sites.

Margarita González Fernández, Minister of Labor and Social Security, said in her speech on the TV show Round Table that in the case of pensioners will benefit all those who receive less than 500 pesos currently and the measure will begin to be implemented from the first of July.

However, for those who charge by checkbook this payment will be effective from September, the month in which the difference will be paid. Those pensioners who charge with a magnetic card will receive the money from July.

Regarding the pensions of workers under special regimes, he said that since the beginning of these activities it has been conceived that the amount with which he contributes is the basis of the calculation of the pension that he will receive once he retires.

Regarding the comprehensive nature of the measures, González Fernández reiterated that all workers in the budgeted sector will receive increases, and depend on the degree of complexity.

It clarified doubts related to the Health sector, in which doctors and stomatologists, for example, teach but do not occupy places in educational institutions, in this case they will receive their salary as a professional and also an additional payment for their teaching category.

In the case of the rest of the professionals who are staff of the universities, whether or not they are trained in the Health sector, they will receive salaries according to the teaching category they hold, which is established for the Ministry of Higher Education.

Regarding the Education sector, he clarified that payments for seniority and investigative category are maintained.

He stressed that the graduates who are going to fulfill the social service will also have their increase: in the case of the average level 510 pesos and 620 pesos the higher level, in recognition of their contribution to the center where they are inserted.

The budgeted units of special treatment will also receive increases in their salaries, including research centers.

On the moonlighting clarified that the increases can be perceived by the worker in the places where he is hired, in proportion to the time you work.

This duality also extends to retirees who have returned to work, who will be benefited in their pension (if it is less than 500 pesos) and in the position they perform.   

Gonzalez Fernandez clarified that the payments will correspond to the month of July and will be collected in the month of August and in the case of the Education sector is working to be done also in this period.

Regarding the pharmacy and optics system, Meisi Bolaños, Minister of Finance and Prices, clarified that they belong to the business system and are of local subordination and therefore do not enter the salary increase, but their treatment is evaluated and they will be given priority in the improvement in which you work, given the importance of your state order: sell medicines with centralized and subsidized prices.

The ministers responded to the concerns of the population during a special round table that was held in the Palace of the Revolution and attended, in addition to the Cuban president, members of the Council of Ministers and the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. (ACN)
