Debates begin in committees of the Cuban legislature

Photo: PLHavana, July 8. - Deputies of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba begin today debates in commissions on issues related to public transportation, housing and others of notable daily incidence in the population.
The discussions of core issues for the country will take place during three days in this capital 10 parliamentary commissions, as part of the activities prior to the Third Ordinary Period of Sessions of the IX Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power.
One of the issues in the center of the attention of the deputies refers to the policies of attention to the demographic dynamics, since 20.4% of the Cuban population is 60 years old or more.
It is necessary in this case to adopt decisions to address not only the growing needs of this population group, but to make adjustments in the dynamics of the economy and society, according to the newspaper Granma.
On the issue of housing, the deputies will analyze aspects such as the construction or remodeling of apartments for families with three or more children.
According to the newspaper Granma, in the agenda of the parliamentarians there are also other topics for debate such as the program of activities designed for the summer of 2019 and they will learn about the liquidation of the State Budget of 2018.
The draft laws of Fisheries and National Symbols are also on the agenda of the commissions, with a view to specifying aspects of everything that has been discussed around them, which will be submitted to the approval of the Assembly during the regular session, scheduled for July 13 and 14.
The Ministries of Tourism and Industries will provide information to the deputies, who will have in these days, in addition to the days of analysis, moments for the study and clarification of doubts about the three bills that will be submitted for approval in the session ordinary Parliament, including the draft Electoral Law.
In the Granma report it is announced that in the plenary sessions of the Assembly, along with the voting on the bills, the implementation of the Economy Plan will be discussed in the first semester of 2019, the Liquidation Report of the State Budget of the 2018 and the election of the National Electoral Council will be held.
