Caracas, Jul 29. - Just less than nine hours was on the Venezuelan land this Sunday the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. Just under nine hours in which the epicenter of solidarity, integration and anti-imperialism of the people was once again in the city of Caracas, where the XXV edition of the Sao Paulo Forum was held for four days.

Accompanied by acclamations of "Cuba yes, Yankees no" and "Fidel, Fidel, what does Fidel have that the imperialists cannot with him?" Díaz-Canel began his words to the representatives of the more than 124 political parties and leftist movements present at the appointment. To Comandante Hugo Chávez Frías the first memory, “the great friend of Cuba, the son of America who turns 65 today in eternity”, whom Fidel loved as a son and placed next to Bolívar and Martí in the battle for the Fatherland Big.

A deep discourse full of symbolism and denouncing the innumerable acts of evil without limits that today are trying to impose neoliberal powers in the region. But even that evil is dwarfed - Díaz-Canel stressed - when Our America meets, that is, the diverse, plural and contributing world of the progressive partisan leaders of Latin American and Caribbean social activists who decided since the dark 90s of the last century build this unitary space on the left alive and acting.

A speech in which the Cuban Head of State constantly evoked ideas from Bolívar and Martí, of whom, he assured, Fidel and Chavez nourished the ideology of our revolutions. "Unity and integration were his great obsessions and should also be ours."

"I know that these are also the obsessions of the Sao Paulo Forum, born of the need for unity and articulation of the political parties and popular movements of the left in our region to confront imperialism and the neoliberal right," he said.

Díaz-Canel's words lead us again and again to history and its coincidences; to the transcendence of how much has been done in pursuit of the integration and unity of our peoples; to the urgency to strengthen more and more what unites us in the midst of our diversities.

“The São Paulo Forum summons us in an extremely challenging July and here we are, to accompany the heroic Venezuelan resistance and demand the end of the brutal siege imposed on it. Venezuela is today the first trench of the anti-imperialist struggle ”, sentence and the auditor applauds.

Called to play a more leading role in today's complex political scenario, the Sao Paulo Forum The Sao forum has great challenges, much to grasp yet and do for the benefit of our peoples. Because just to give hope - recalled the Cuban President - it was founded by Fidel and Lula, as a valuable instrument for concerted unity in diversity.

“Let us not forget for a moment that we are in the besieged Caracas.” And his words also become a ratification before the world of support and solidarity with “the legitimate President Nicolás Maduro Moros and the Military Civic Union that has caused the failure of the worst plans of the enemy ”. It is the support of the ideals of a people, their fortitude as a nation of Our America.

“No tribune better than this forum to ratify that Cuba will never renounce or betray its principles or Venezuela.” Imperialism proposes us to betray Venezuela and in “the height of cynicism appeals to blackmail, ignorant of history and the principles of The foreign policy of the Cuban Revolution, they propose us to negotiate a possible reconciliation in exchange for abandoning the course chosen and defended by our people now as before.

“They suggest betraying friends, throwing 60 years of dignity into the wastebasket; Cuba says, no imperialist gentlemen, we don't understand each other”

There can be no better tribute to Chavez than this meeting, where unity beats the great legacy that our heroes left us. “Happy birthday Commander, The people of Latin America and the world have come to celebrate your birth where your remains rest,” with the certainty that the powerful revolutionary ideal that bequeathed us is still alive “your dear Homeland and in all corners of the world world that touched your passionate word, ”insists the Cuban Head of State.

The challenge of this event - he reflects - is to finally make it the reality of this beautiful alliance of forces. Our America and its people need them, the lefts of the world also claim it.

VENEZUELA IS NOT ALONE

The call to unity was also present in the words of President Maduro and that unity has to become a word of order for our peoples, because only through it will we be able to be strong and achieve definitive independence.

With similar emphasis, he denounced that there is a communication campaign against Venezuela and the Bolivarian Government. In turn, he recalled that Bolivarianism emerged as an autochthonous response to the crisis of the imperialist domination model that had been imposed in the country.

Constant lies and manipulations rise against our people - he emphasized - but the people of Venezuela are a people of democratic culture, of rebel values, brave.

He urged to consolidate more and more the union of the left, which will allow the unity to become a great project of unification of the popular forces.

"Thank you for coming to Venezuela to defend the truth," he told those present.

Whatever you do, whatever you say, the Bolivarian Revolution will still stand, Maduro said.

What better culmination then to close this event, called to set guidelines in the Forum of Sao Paulo, a mechanism of integration and struggles for our peoples, and also, why not, hopes.  (Granma)
