Visual arts room Fidelio Ponce de León back in Camaguey galleries

Photo: ArchivoCamagüey, sept. 5- The 31st release of the Visual arts room Fidelio Ponce de León will arrive at the city from September 18 to 21, to bring several proposals into the galleries of Camaguey.
Hosted by the Council of Plastic Arts and the Cultural Directorate of the city, the exhibition will be dedicated to the 505 anniversary of the city and will acknowledge the work of the Historian's Office in this aspect.
The selection committee accepted 23 free-style works and two curatorial projects in different formats; techniques and visual basis compete this time, when the audience will be able to enjoy seven collateral exhibitions and conferences offered by the theoretical event.
Also, the organizing committee declared Wednesday on a press conference that the Fidelio Ponce de León Distinction will be given to the outstanding local painter Rodrick Dixon Gently, who has contributed as a teacher to the training of new generations of plastic artists in Camagüey.
This year, the Artists Room Elpidio Huerta will have guest participants such as Osmany Soler, Néstor Siré, Osmar Yero, Carlos René Aguilera, Marta Jiménez y Magdiel García, who will present various works in different collateral exhibitions.
The jury for the most important plastic arts event in Camaguey will award the winners with a Grand Prize in the category of artist and another one in curatorial projects. (Cadenagramonte)
