Camagüey vs. Guantanamo starting today in the National Baseball Championship

Photo: ArchivePhoto: ArchiveCamagüey, Oct. 1 - The Bulls from Camagüey face from today the Guantánamo Indians at the start of the penultimate games of the qualifying stage in the 59th National Baseball Championship.

The local team arrives at Guantánamo after losing the previous game against Santiago de Cuba in the Guillermón Moncada stadium, result that allowed the Wasps to place first in the championship, ahead the Bulls.

The confrontation between Camagüey and Guantanamo during this Tuesday, and next Wednesday and Thursday will happen entirely in the Nguyen Van Troi stadium, in Guantanamo, starting at 2:00p.m. and broadcasted by the Agramonte Radio Sports Caravan.

From today, we will have Artemisa vs. Ciego de Ávila, on July 26; Isla de la Juventud vs.Industriales, in the Cristóbal Labra; Mayabeque vs.Pinar del Río, in Nelson Fernández; and Matanzas vs. Villa Clara in the Victoria de Girón.

The mid-week program will be completed with Cienfuegos vs. Granma, in the Cinco de Septiembre stadium; Sancti Spíritus vs. Las Tunas, in the José Antonio Huelga; and Holguín vs. Santiago de Cuba at the Calixto García stadium.

The Championship leaderborad has Santiago de Cubain in the first place, with 26 won and 13 lost, followed by Camagüey with 25 and 13, Matanzas with 24 and 14, and Cienfuegos with 24 and 15. (Cadenagramonte)
