Photo: ACN.HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 24.- Right-hander Jonder Martinez pitched seven scoreless innings to help Matanzas beating 3-1 the leader Las Tunas, in the 57th Cuban National Baseball Series.
Yanier Blanco earned the save despite allowing 4 hits, including a solo homer by Rafael Viñales, in 2 innings, while Yudiel Rodriguez took the loss.
There were offensive highlight to 3B Yurisbel Gracial, who hit 4 for 4 with two doubles and one RBI, while 2B Anibal Medina also homered for the winning side.
Meanwhile, Pinar del Río defeated 4-2 Artemisa, mainly based on an excellent work by the starter Yosvany Torres, who covered the entire route allowing 2 runs and seven hits, with four strikeouts.
The loss went to Geonel Gutierrez, who surrendered 4 runs and six hits in six innings.
The match between Industriales and the current monarch, Granma, was suspended by rain and they will play twice today at Havana´s Latinoamericano stadium. (ACN)
