During the meeting, Yazayi stated the need to put an end to the unilateral measures imposed on Damascus by Western countries, which prevent the entry into this country of sophisticated medical equipment and medicines for chronic diseases.
The Syrian government is committed to ensuring the humanitarian response plan and in the field of health, medical care reaches all parts of the country, he said.
The UN representative insisted that collaboration should be strengthened to bring medical aid to areas that are difficult to access.
Lowcock, who was received two days ago by Syrian Foreign Minister, Walid al-Moallem, visited the central province of Homs yesterday, where he met with displaced people affected by the armed conflict in this country, which began almost seven years ago.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in this country, with around 69 percent of the population in extreme poverty, more than 13 million people need basic help and protection. (Cadenagramonte)
