Music and poetry to honor Nicolás Guillén

Photo: Cadenagramonte.Havana, Jan 30.- The 11th Colloquium and International Festival of Music and Poetry Nicolás Guillén, sitting here feom March 13 to the 15, to celebrate the 60 years of flight "La Paloma", poems of exile of the Cuban intellectual, announced the organizers.
The text reflects the work of Guillen written of 1953 to 1958, years in which resides outside of the island because of Fulgencio Batista's dictatorship (1952-1958), said in a meeting with the press, the president of the foundation that bears the name of the National Poet of Cuba Nicolás Hernández Guillén.
On the Symposium and Festival advancement that, entitled "Putting all hands", verse of the poem "The Wall", it is proposed to exchange ideas in the theoretical field about inequities in different social environments.
"We will see the differences from the territorial, ethnic, gender, generational, etc., and the challenges facing the search for equity," he said.
The appointment will be in two venues, the Rubén Martínez Villena of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), space for conferences and panels, which are attended by prestigious national and foreign intellectuals; and the Cultural Center the square of 2 and 31, which will take place the cultural program.

The closure of the event will be in the Plaza of 2 and 31 by the female amateur group Setwal Fam, bearer of Haitian cultural traditions, and the performance of the popular dance music group NG La Banda, founded and directed by maestro José Luis Cortes "El tosco", National Music Award in 2017.
Two interesting moments of the event will be the sample of political cinema made by women, made possible thanks to the support of the Embassy of Spain in Cuba; and the presentation of the poems "that quiet way", a new collection of love poems by Nicolás Guillén, the 14 February in the Villena of the UNEAC.
