Photo: PLPrague, Mar 29.- The Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Czech Republic-Cuba expressed its interest in strengthening ties in the different spheres and friendship between both nations, diplomatic sources said today.

During a meeting at the Cuban embassy in this country, the new president of the Friendship Group, Pavel Ruzicka, assured his full willingness to support all initiatives and projects to boost bilateral relations.

The head of the diplomatic mission of the Caribbean nation, Felix Leon, stressed his confidence that efforts continue to enrich the exchanges between these countries and their people.

Last month, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Martin Tlapa, expressed the satisfaction of his government for the state of ties with Cuba.

In 2017, these links received a strong boost with visits to Cuba of the Czech Ministers of Health, Agriculture and Trade and Industry, as well as the trip of several Cuban delegations to the European country.

That same year, the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Czech Republic-Cuba expressed its solidarity with the Cuban people and government after the ravages caused by Hurricane Irma. (PL)
