Korimakao Pays Tribute to Fidel in its Artistic Gala

Photo: Cadenagramonte.Cienaga de Zapata, Cuba, Apr 18.- The usual cultural gala offered by the Korimakao artistic community group every April 18th will be dedicated this year to the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro and the Victory of the Bay of Pigs in its 57th anniversary.
Based in the town of Palpite, the group will present on Wednesday through dance, theater and music a performance that will close the cycle of a trilogy dedicated to the Commander in Chief with the massive participation of children artists of the region located in south central Cuba.
The first defeat of US imperialism in Latin America will be recreated from a live musical with original themes and others from renowned Cuban trova singer/songwriters like Silvio Rodriguez, said Yander Roche Miralles, general artistic director of the gala.
Korimakao was founded over 20 years ago by renowned Cuban actor, Manuel Porto to take art to the most isolated regions of the largest wetlands in the Caribbean.
The 10th anniversary of the foundation of La Voz de la Victoria will be commemorated on Wednesday, community radio that transmits 9 hours a day to local residents reflecting the economic, social and cultural development of the Zapata Swamp, site which was totally ignored before January of 1959.
The activity for the 57th anniversary of the Victory of the Bay of Pigs, will be held Thursday morning in an area in front of the museum that recalls the history of the days of April of 1961. (Cadenagramonte)
