These are two important meetings: the migratory working group and the political consultation mechanism, the latter with more than two decades of implementation.
The Undersecretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Luis Alfonso del Alba, and Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Rogelio Sierra, lead both countries' delegations that will meet today and tomorrow.
On the migration issue, the flow of people, as well as the behavior of the memorandum of understanding on the matter, even the possibility of establishing new commitments, will be reviewed.
During the political consultations, the development of cooperation ties, agreements with legal frameworks to assess or sign, as well as regional and multilateral issues, will be addressed.
Participants will also exchange views on the forthcoming session of the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), which will take place in Havana in coming days, occasion in which Cuba will receive the pro tempore presidency Mexico still holds. (PL)
