French decorative arts to celebrate International Museum Day

Photo: CadenagramontePhoto: CadenagramonteHavana, May18.- The French decorative arts will be the common point they will share the two exhibitions that will inaugurate the National Museum of Decorative Arts in the capital, this May 18, International Museum Day.

The Eclecticism is the name of one of them, focused to reflect the influence in the decorative arts, that style emerged in the Gallic country and dominant in the world between 1860 and 1920.

The other exhibition, entitled Art of France, 1988-2018: 30 years of the workshop of Jean Boggio, will bring to Cuba the work of this outstanding French jeweller and goldsmith has carried out work on glass, glass, porcelain, tapestry, wallpaper and furniture, and that arrives in Cuba to celebrate the three decades of the foundation of their workshop.

In this exhibition the creations of Boggio dialog with pieces in the museum's collection, so that you will be able to appreciate a continuity in the quality and in the mastery of the production in China, glass and silverware in France.

The exhibition has been curated by Gustavo Lopez, deputy director of the National Museum of Decorative Arts and Olivier Perpoint, with the support of the International Cultural Institute.

Both exhibitions, open to the public until 30 June, form part of the activities that make up this year, the program of the 3rd month of French Culture in Cuba.

Of the broad representation of visual arts that will host the event, in force until 30 June, figure also Agency, shows mostly silk that will reveal points of contact between the visions female artist gala John Deneuve and Cuban Adislen Kings.

The expo, which will also cover painting and installation in a score of works, will occupy the Palace of the second place from 25 May to 25 June.
