Vidal, champion of the world U-18 last year in Nairobi, Kenya, registered a 7.42 meters jump in his third attempt to be included between 12 athletes who will go out tomorrow on Wednesday in the search of a medal.
The Cuban met below his habitual yield, since it was the last one between all classified in spite of exhibiting 8.12 as personal mark, the best between all the competitors.
His compatriot Lester Lescay, second of the world U-18 in Nairobi 2017, was not in his best day either and 7.36 reached in the second jump it was not enough to him to be included in the squad of the finalists.
The classification was dominated by the Japanese Yuki Hashioka with 7.92 meters and the Jamaican Wayne Pinnock with 7.76.
In this first day of the universal joust U-20 the gems will be discussed in the five thousand meters tests for women, masculine throwing of the bullet and 10 thousand meters for men. (Cadenagramonte)
