U.S. earmarks budget for Cuba subversion focused on training of “emerging young leaders”

Photo: RHCWashington, October 25.- The U.S. State Department has launched a million-dollar plus project for the training of what they define as “emerging Cuban leaders.” The goal, writes the Florida-based website Cuba Money Project, is the coaching of 20 to 45 university students or young professionals who could help the U.S. in its so-called fostering of democracy in Cuba.
The State Department announcement says the organization entrusted with the training of these 45 Cubans would have to spend $12,000 dollars on each, for a total of a bit over half a million, keeping the remaining other half-million for itself. Participants would travel to the United States or a third country in two to four groups during the period of the training.
The State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs had scheduled the start the three-year-long project in September. The Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs is headed by former CIA analyst Kimberly Breier.
The purpose behind the Cuba subversion program is that participants later establish themselves on the island as professional resources for the U.S.'s so-called “grassroots efforts.” (RHC)
