The group formed by the stars of the Salvadoran professional league said goodbye to their fans this Sunday afternoon snatching a victory to the Cuban national team with the final slate of six races by three to close a series of three matches at the Saturnino Bengoa stadium of the capital of that country.
Carlos Teller, left-handed pitcher close to turning 33, born in Nicaragua and trained as a baseball player in El Salvador, managed to space eleven hits and tie the Antilleans short throughout the entire match with breaking throws and a fastball that reached the 90 miles per hour.
The hosts knew how to come from behind on the scoreboard scoring five runs in one stroke, taking out from the box the Santiago Alberto Bicet, spraying the sweeping aspirations of the Cuban cast.
Jesus Martinez was in charge of the final thrust when the ball disappeared to reliever Pablo Guillen, closing the second third of the game.
The Cuban defeat joins the long list of incomprehensible things that happened this weekend for those lands considering the low quality of the opponents. Several questions float in the air inside hermetic bubbles without anyone being able to answer them while the lovers of our national sport are disappointed.
• What is a Cuban national team doing with members of one of the lowest quality leagues in the baseball world? Could it be that this is now the level we have?
• What economic benefits can an event where only 500 people attend the stadium and no television station pay rights to transmit them?
• What sport benefits does it bring down the level of competition in the middle of a year where the Olympic classification is at stake?
• Why was not the opportunity taken to give blanks to developing figures?
• How is it possible, in addition, to be defeated in one of the three matches?
• Who saves us?
