Efficiency and productivity characterize the Fishing Company in the South of Camagüey

Photo: CadenagramonteCamagüey, March 11.- Undoubtedly, the socialist state enterprise is the main actor of the economy in Cuba - and this is explicit in the recently approved Constitution of the Republic - but to really fulfill its decisive role in favor of the country's development , and not the opposite, the confluence of several factors is necessary: efficiency, productivity, initiative, innovation, unity in the collective and commitment and responsibility.
That is the case of the Fishing and Industrial Company of the South (EPISUR) Argélico Lara Correa, in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Sur, an entity that is not satisfied with fulfilling its state mandates, but every day dreams of new projects that the economy and society thank you.
And that is an effective way, the best, to also pay tribute to the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, who 32 years ago, on March 10, 1987 toured the then Combinado Pesquero-Industrial and other sites. There remains the memory of the visit, and proudly display at the entrance of the installation some of the graphic impressions that testify so significant moment.
Several actions were carried out by EPISUR workers to commemorate the event, but the most important is to continue contributing to the country's progress, as they have done for some time, with the entrance of foreign currency thanks to exports, which last year translated into more of three million dollars, with a high over fulfillment with respect to the predicted thing; and with the same tendency, deliveries to the domestic currency market were performed, for the benefit, for example, of the hotel network.
And it is that the lobster, the marine shrimp, the cobo and the sea cucumber are highly valued in the international market, in places like China, Spain, Japan and Mexico, and the dividends received by the largest of the Antilles are a relief for the finances of a country that is called to increase the items for the exterior as a way to oxygenate the economy.
However, the management of the company is not there, because as Liyuán López Carmenates, a commercial specialist, has also disseminated more than a dozen points of sale to the population by the geography of Camaguey, in which they sell fresh and pre-processed products , with emphasis on Santa Cruz communities.
To this is added the diversification of the lines, since not only marine products or crops are processed, since in an alternative plant they make sweets in syrup, jam, juices, tomato puree and others, until completing more than twenty assortments , with ample demand among customers for its quality.
Other acknowledgments are obtained by EPISUR for its union and administrative work, with a young director at the head, Osmany Barreiro Consuegra, who has managed to lead his group, which stands as the main protagonist of the outstanding task.
Undoubtedly, the Fishing and Industrial Company of the South Argélico Lara Correa is presented as a guide in the efficiency and good practices of this sector that drives the economy -without being unaware of avatars that are presented today in the national panorama- but always convinced of what essential of their contribution, and that is why they are proud in a fishing village, visited by Fidel 32 years ago.
