Photo: PLHavana, Mar 15.- The American rock band Blondie debuts today in Cuba, an occasion expected for years by thousands of followers of the legendary formation.
The recital will be the first of the two offered by the group at the Mella theater in this city, where they will perform a varied repertoire that includes classics from their discography and songs from their most recent studio album titled Pollinator.
During the presentation, the lineup, led by Deborah Harry, will share the stage with local artists David Torrens and Síntesis, this last group of Afro-Cuban rock will be in charge of opening the concert and for the closing will do duet with Blondie.
According to the statement on social networks, they have long wanted to sing in Cuba and share the stage with their musicians.
In its more than four decades of musical history, the ensemble also includes Christopher Stein (guitar), Leigh Foxx (bass), Matt Katz-Bohen (keyboards and synthesizers) and Tommy Kessler (guitar), has 11 studio albums and over 40 million records sold in the world.
Created in 1974, Blondie is one of the pillars of the emergence of the new wave (new wave) and punk rock in the United States and is part of the Hall of Fame rock and roll since 2006. (PL)
