Cuba expands medals in Special Olympics

Foo: JITHavana, March 20.- The athlete Roberto Luis Fernandez contributed a couple of medals more to the Cuban delegation attending the XV Special Olympics World Games, based in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The young man of only 17 years reached silver in the 100 meters flat of the group M18 (11:76 seconds) and bronze in the long jump of the section M15, with 5,50 meters.
In the hectometer it was only surpassed by the Jamaican Daeshawn Green (11:37 sec.), While the bronze corresponded to the Ecuadorian José Luis Álvarez (12:09).
In the length he was behind the Libyan Ahmed Nouri Salim Farhat (6,15) and the representative of Burkina Faso Gildas Koura Rouamba, also with a jump of 5,50 meters.
In the same day, the swimmer Yurisnel Rojas Reynaldo closed sixth in the 100 meters free of the category M14, with time of 1: 24.63 minutes.
That competition was dominated by the Indonesian Refel Andre (1: 08.76 min.), The Israeli Daniel Ben Assa (1: 11.61) and the French Florent Danays (1: 14.31).
After these dividends, Cuba accumulates two gold medals, four silver medals and three bronze medals, plus two fourth places, two fifths, one sixth and one seventh. All with just seven athletes.
The event ends on March 21 and has had the presence of 7 thousand 500 athletes from 190 countries, plus 3 thousand coaches and 20 thousand volunteers.
