Cuban Film Festival in New Delhi

Photo: PLNew Delhi, March 28.- The movie "Viva Cuba" will open a Cuban film festival in India, in the framework of the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution in the Caribbean country and the diplomatic relations between both nations.
The Embassy of Cuba in New Delhi, in collaboration with the International Center of India, launched this film show that seeks to further expand the close historical ties between both peoples and whose diplomatic relations were established in 1960, a few months after the trip to Cuba. India in June 1959 of the legendary guerrilla commander Ernesto Che Guevara.
The film by the prominent Cuban director Juan Carlos Cremata, which deals with the balance and frailties between the world of children and adults, will be followed by films of recognized caliber and winners of several scrolls such as 'Clandestinos', 'El Benny', 'José Martí: the eye of the Canary', 'Casa Vieja', 'Kangamba' and 'El brigadista', the latter on the 1961 Literacy Campaign on the island.
In a conversation with Prensa Latina, Cuba's diplomatic representative Juan Carlos Marcof said that this cycle of seven Cuban films, which will be shown soon in New Delhi, also serves as a celebration for the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry ( Icaic).
With subtitles in English, like the other works, 'Viva Cuba' will be seen by the public of New Delhi in the Deshmukh CD Auditorium, of the International Center of India, on April 8, in a meeting with part of the most outstanding of the Cuban filmography that will be able to appreciate until the 26 of the same month the Indian moviegoers.
