Photo: PLPhoto: PLHavana, 12 Apr.- A collective exhibition of more than 100 Cuban artists inaugurated today the HB Exhibition of Contemporary Cuban Art, on the occasion of the XIII Biennial of Havana, which begins tomorrow in this city.

The initiative, which brings together creators that belonged in the decades of the 70s, 80s and 90s of the last century and other younger ones, takes a journey through contemporary Cuban art with heterogeneous aesthetic proposals.

Among the participants, Pedro Pablo Oliva, Roberto Fabelo, René Francisco, Eduardo Roca Salazar (Choco), José Ángel Toirac, Cosme Proenza, Humberto Hernández Martínez (El Negro) and René Aguilera, all with a prolific work in the visual arts.

On display you can see artistic productions such as video art, installations and object art, generally in need of greater surface and height for assembly.

Likewise, there is space for painting, photography and sculptures by well-known authors within the most diverse styles and poetics.

According to one of the curators of the project, María Melián, this year the call was numerous, which demonstrates the positive response of the creators and their interest in making the art made on the island visible.

The event arrives for the fourth consecutive time at the Biennial and will have its headquarters in the Alejo Carpentier room of the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, the Collage Habana gallery and the Ensamble workshop in this capital.

HB is a proposal that comes from the commercialization entities of the art Genesis Art Galleries, Havana Gallery and the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets to make visible the creations made in Cuba. (PL)
