Cuba welcomes for the first time this meeting, in which representatives of 20 countries and several ministers confirmed their participation, as announced to the Cuban News Agency specialists of the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba (AGRC).
The deliberations will be until Friday, and in one of them will take place the signing of the agreement that will give origin to the Caribbean Customs Organization (OAC), which will provide the new organization with greater recognition and legal force at the regional level international.
The Caribbean Council for the Application of Customs Laws emerged in November 1989, but Cuba was not a member because of the impact of the economic, financial and commercial blockade of successive US governments almost 60 years ago.
Under the slogan The Way to Success, the Force through unity, will also attend the meeting as guests, among others, Colonel Nelson Cordovés Reyes, head of the AGRC, a control body that guarantees security and protection of the socialist society and the national economy, as well as tax collection and foreign trade statistics.
