During the meeting Machado highlighted the historical and special bonds of brotherhood between both parties, governments and peoples. He also exchanged with the visitor about the restorative offensive of neoliberalism that takes place in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the efforts of our Party to promote unity, anti-imperialist struggle and solidarity, particularly with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The Cuban leader referred to the hostile policy of the United States Government against Cuba and the full application of the Helms-Burton Law. In this regard, Phan Dinh Trac ratified the invariable policy of the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam in rejecting the US blockade, as well as the willingness of the top leadership of his country to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity with Cuba.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor were the ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Cuba, Nguyen Trung Thanh, and other members of his delegation. On the Cuban side, Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera, deputy head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, was present. (Granma)
