Díaz-Canel confirmed the state of productive programs and investors in Holguin

Photo: ACNHolguín, May 31. - Specific issues of the economy were at the center of the valuations of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, during his working visit for two days to the province of Holguin, where broad programs are implemented in sectors of industry, agriculture, tourism and nickel, among others.
Touching with his hands those areas in which greater consecration is required, the Cuban president called to increase the productive capacities in a specific way in the factory of combined sugarcane, where he praised the progress made but insisted on expanding the production of spare parts, which He descended in recent times.
In this sense he insisted on increasing the technological availability in that center to extend his contributions with machinery of own designs destined to high priority crops in Cuba such as rice, aspect that he pointed out at the same time in the Plant of agricultural implements Heroes of July 26 , also supplier of mechanical complements.
Díaz-Canel Bermúdez pointed out in these entities the need to prioritize production plans with a view to complying with their respective commitments, as ways to reduce the imports of necessary resources in the work areas and at the same time enhance those exportable items with which the country is compromised by the impact on the economy.
With regard to the Pedro Sotto Alba nickel factory, located in the municipality of Moa, he highlighted the favorable results in the processing of the mineral to date and suggested reviewing the research carried out in the university of that territory to the new ways to mitigate environmental pollution.
The Cuban leader in his second ministerial visit to Holguín since he assumed the presidency in 2018, confirmed the status of the productive programs and investors of the Combinado Lácteo Rafael Freyre and the Company of preserves and vegetables of the provincial capital, where he recognized the initiatives of both groups to improve the quality of their assortments, both for the consumption of the population and the tourism sector.
In the conclusions pointed out that it is essential in the current times, to work with exigence, responsibility and rigor, in order to comprehensively improve the economic and social indicators in a general way in all the productive spheres as well as in the services.
He also referred to the priorities that should be offered in the refurbishment of the railway terminal in the city of Holguín with regard to the next reopening of the Havana train to this city, which has been interrupted for more than a decade in passenger services.
Another point to which he referred was to the housing construction plan that shows delays in the first months of the year, coupled with deficiencies in the documentation of completed houses, subsidies and works in progress.
When addressing other indicators appreciated during the visit, he acknowledged the progress of the Lucía Íñiguez Landín surgical clinical hospital, in terms of the expansion of medical services and the process of computerization led by an internal television channel, two decades after it was founded.
Roberto Morales Ojeda, vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, underlined the intervention in the summary about the need to intensify work to reduce the transmission of dengue and strengthen primary health care, while urging to raise the plan of income to the José Martí pedagogical school.
Inés María Chapman, vice-president of the Councils of State and of Ministers, signified the value of use that should be given to the irrigation systems for agriculture and the cultivation of sugarcane from the benefits offered by the East-West transfer , still in the phase of completion in the province of Holguin, which will progressively increase the supply of water to the population and the tourist pole of Guardalavaca.
During the tours, the Cuban President received the ovation and enthusiasm of the people of Holguin who, as on the previous occasion, reaffirmed his commitment to defend the work of the Revolution with responsibility and optimism. (ACN)
