Havana, June 19. - The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received Lord David Triesman, co-president of the Cuba Initiative, on Tuesday afternoon, who visits Havana at the head of a large delegation of businessmen from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The meeting confirmed the good state of the bilateral economic relations and the commitment of the Cuba Initiative to continue working on its strengthening.
Lord Triesman was accompanied by Messrs. Antony Stokes, ambassador of the United Kingdom in Havana, and Chris Bennett, coordinator of the Cuba Initiative.
Participants also included Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and Marcelino Medina, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The visit represents the concretion of the relaunching of the Cuba Initiative, in correspondence with the will expressed by both parties during the stay of
President Díaz-Canel in London, in November 2018. This is a bilateral mechanism to promote economic, commercial and social relations. of cooperation between the Greater Antilles and the United Kingdom. (Cubadebate)
