Runoff voting passes successfully in Sierra de Cubitas

Photo: ArchiveSierra de Cubitas, December 4.- Four districts opened the polling stations at 7 o´clock in the morning this Sunday in Sierra de Cubitas for the second round of elections for delegates to Municipal Assembly of People's Power.
Once again, all the conditions were created to make certain the quality of this democratic exercise, where two thousand 119 voters had to participate in the suffrage.
All this allowed a total of 1 780 voters to go to the polls on this occasion representing 84.04% of attendance resulting elected the candidates who received the most valid votes, thus the territory already has the 36 delegates that will integrate the Municipal Assembly of People´s Power.
Eddy Margarita La Rosa García, president of the Municipal Electoral Commission, explained that the percentage of participation constitutes an endorsement of the political system and the democratic and participatory nature of the elections, as well as a worthy support for the legacy of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.
This runoff vote took place in an ambiance of discipline and organization with total adherence to the legislation in the Cuban Electoral Law, which also included young student collaborators and the help of State institutions.
