Pioneers present in tribute to the martyrs.Sierra de Cubitas, Dec 7.- The heroism of Combatants who gave their lives for the independence and sovereignty of other nations was praised today in Sierra de Cubitas with a pilgrimage to the Pantheon of the local martyrs.
Inhabitants of this northern territory together with main political and governmental authorities once again reaffirmed their convictions of preserving the social gains after more than 50 years of Revolution and the fidelity to those who were killed in combat in defense of the Homeland with the commitment to be better in everyday performance of duty.
The presence of the new generations at the solemn ceremony was a transcendental moment as proof of the validity of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro’s ideas that today multiply more than ever in the materialization of the values of solidarity and altruism in young people behavior.
On December 7, 1989 was the date chosen to pay tribute to Cuban fighters killed for freedom, inspired by the courage of Lieutenant General of the Army Corps Liberator Antonio Maceo Grajales and Captain Francisco Gomez Toro, the beginning of what would later be the never-ending glory to thousands a persons who dignified Cuba for their heroism and courage and also believed in cooperation and understanding between nations.
