Sierra de Cubitas, Dec 10.- The Teacher´s Day celebration takes place each December 22 throughout the country, that is why also in Sierra de Cubitas those who provide instruction and education to thousand students receive an award in acknowledgment of their work.

Since November 22, many different activities have been carried out in this northern territory being on these occasion the schools and the communities the best places to highlight what they do every day in favor of the formation of today and future generations.

As well, it has also been celebrated meetings with the participation of skilled and inexpert teachers, students that opt for pedagogical careers together with their relatives, all this as way of knowing much more about the teachers' complex, beautiful and necessary work and recognize it socially.

During those days, the opening of the pedagogical classroom at Orlando Gonzalez High School and some visits to pensioners of the educational sector is also part of the activities developed for the date.

The deserved tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, who taught and inspired the Cubans and also was the greatest promoter of the Literacy Campaign that brought the field of teaching to all far-off  sites of the country, marks the Teacher’s Day in Sierra de Cubitas.
