Miriam Yerena among her students.Sierra de Cubitas, Dec 14.- Miriam Yerena Cepero, a professor at Pedro Alejandro Padrón Secondary School in Sierra de Cubitas, has been teaching History for more than 30 years; time enough for her to tell anecdotes.
"When I was very young and just graduated from Felix Varela University of Villa Clara, I came to this municipality where I felt in love and created my beloved family that I enjoy very much, since then 33 years have passed what makes me consider myself from this territory, "Miriam said.
Not always you have the opportunity to exchange with a professional so passionate and committed to the work she does, her gestures and the way of expressing herself showed me the great person I was talking with, and a woman who strives make her students better human beings every day.
"I have very nice experiences; the adolescents I exchange with teach me every day new things especially because they are very juvenile and need our support. I was recently given by a girl with academic problems a postcard that read: - Happy New Year my dearest teacher, you are a very special person for me - . Imagine, it was something unexpected but at the same time beautiful that contributed a lot to my self-esteem, "she added.
This outstanding educator considers communication with her students very important because it helps them very much to understand the subject she teaches, the knowledge of History is very important and necessary for new generations.
“I feel all the students around me being my children because they look after me most of the time, they need my advice about knowledge and experience, every kiss they give me is a very valuable gift, I would not desire life to ever leave me without the company of my pupils because that also is History ".
There is not for a good teacher like Mirian Yerena Cepero who dedicates part of her life to this profession a tribute as valuable as entering her teaching space during class hours to make an interview especially on days when educators are being congratulated for the excellent service they provide to the society.
