Life Task moves forward in Sierra de Cubitas

Save life on Earth.Sierra de Cubitas, Jul 10.- Life Task advances in the municipality of Camagüey; a State Plan for confronting climate change, a commitment that collects tactical visions that look at prevention, preparation, response and recovery in the face of these possible realities.
This result was verified during the work visit carried out to the territory by Irma Martín Sánchez and Yelena Estévez de Armas, main specialists of the Provincial Unit of Environment in the region of Camaguey.
At the meeting held with the members of the municipal group that addresses this priority, the actions undertaken in the first semester of 2018 were exposed at the most important companies and entities of the territory such as Education and the Delegation of Agriculture.
Not to permit the construction of new housing in threatened coastal settlements that are predicted to be affected by inundation; adapt agricultural and livestock activities to changes in land use as a result of the rise of the sea level and drought, relocation of human settlements and integral recovery of beaches, amongst others, are some of the most important actions in which the Life Task focuses on.
Martín Sánchez and Estévez de Armas pointed out that the Life Task includes strategic actions and tasks distributed in priority areas taking into account the preservation of people's lives in the weakest places, food security and tourism development, tasks in which the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas works in compliance with that policy of the Cuban state in terms of protecting the environment and human beings, especially children and the elderly.
