Photo: ArchiveSierra de Cubitas, Aug 7.- Many actions in order to comply with the measures contained in the plan of prevention of diseases transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquito are promoted by the political, administrative and health authorities of the northern territory of the province of Camaguey.

Actions carried out by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) and the Federation of Cuban Women are very important since in each zone and block of these mass organizations the actions directed to avoid the appearance and spread of the dangerous vector are specified.

Maintaining hygiene in the surroundings of homes, multi-family buildings and work centers is a work priority for all, in addition to achieving the quality of actions for the control of the harmful insect, an endeavor in which citizens play a key role.

As well, in the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas medical and hygienic-epidemiological insurance is guaranteed as was confirmed in the meeting held in the Cubitas Community, chaired by Yuneisy Ramos Vázquez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the territory, who called to join forces in order to keep the health of the inhabitants.

On the other hand, Maikel Peña, deputy director of Medical Assistance at the 13 de Marzo Polyclinic, called on the medical staff to disseminate messages of education and health promotion in all homes and carry out a massive febrile research aimed at detecting anyone with fever.

In this way cubiteños and cubiteñas participate actively in the daily combat against the Aedes aegypti mosquito, aware that the control of the vector through individual and family actions in the home is the main way to avoid the appearance of dengue and the zica.
