The Cubiteños recall the Father of the Homeland

Sierra de Cubitas, Feb. 27.- In commemoration of the 145th Anniversary of the fall in battle of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Castillo, the historic leader of the glorious Yara Revolution and the first President of the Republic in Arms, the Cubiteños recall the great Prócer.
As it is traditional students of the different teachings areas of the municipality will make a posthumous tribute to the progenitor of the cuban Revolution.
Immortalized in history for having starred in the "magical scream of freedom" and initiated the struggles for the independence of the cuban people, for its example of unconditional surrender and patriotism, today lay down homage to his legacy not only in statues venerated with solemnity, but in the memory of the people who will always call him "father".
The date of February 27, 1874 saves the pain of the loss, when falled down shootted who later defined Marti as, "Lord of men who was once, father of a people that was later."
