Gaza Strip is attacked once again

Gaza, Dec 18.- Israeli Air Force units attacked alleged facilities of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip today, but no casualties were reported.

According to the spokesman for Israel's Defense Forces, planes attacked a 'military complex of the terrorist organization', as Israel describes Hamas, hitting six different buildings and infrastructures inside it.

On the other hand, Palestinian sources confirmed that several sites near the city of Beit Lahia and in the areas of Al-Sudaniya and Al Waha, in the northwest of the Strip, were also attacked by Israeli planes.

According to the Israeli source, the bombing was carried out in response to the launch of two rockets from Gaza to the Israeli territory yesterday night.

One of the missiles exploded in the courtyard of a residential building in the regional council of Hof Ashkelon, in southern Israel, while the other one hit a nearby uninhabited area.

Apparently, this time the Israeli short-range anti-missile system, Iron Dome, did not respond as planned.

According to local media reports, since the December 6 announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, at least 18 rockets have been fired from Gaza into Israeli territory.

On December 13, Israeli forces intercepted two more rockets launched from the Strip.

On that occasion, a third projectile, according to a statement from the Israeli Air Force, 'hit an open area of the Eshkol Regional Council.'

The firing of projectiles occurred at the end of another day of Palestinian protests that began more than a week ago in Gaza, the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem against the decision by the U.S. president to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

As a result of Israeli repression of these demonstrations, according to the Red Crescent, the emergency services have treated hundreds of Palestinians injured by Tel Aviv forces. (Prensa Latina)
