'This cannot roll back. If this peace process in Colombia fails, Latin America will fail,' noted the ex-head of State, who attended a government-FARC meeting in this city on Thursday, along with former Spanish President Felipe Gonzalez.
'We have to learn to tolerate, to live with difference,' stressed Mujica, who pointed out that it is time for reconciliation.
'I wish with all my heart that the ghost of war does not walk the streets, the hills, the mountain ranges, the forests of Latin America,' he said at the end of the meeting, at which the Alternative Revolutionary Force of the Common (FARC) party expressed concern about the difficult time the peace process is going through.
'Of course, there are difficulties; it is not a problem of the FARC and the government, it is a problem of Colombian society, it is fundamental that the people realize that the solutions of a country include overcoming war,' the former Uruguayan president underlined.
War cannot be a future project for anyone, he stressed. (Cadenagramonte)
