In a statement, the organization set the goal of 'show that, with its programs and interviews, the radio can help listeners understand the news and contribute to causes of general interest such as the right to education and health, equality of gender or the integration of migrants'.
Unesco invited radio stations to participate in the event in many ways: to discuss the differences in their programs, to involve the audience, to give voice to the voiceless and to inspire listeners to talk about their experiences and to promote participatory action in a spirit of tolerance and peace, reports Prensa Latina.
The text noted that the organization has developed various free resources, promotional jingles in the six official languages of the United Nations, and other content to promote the Day on the airwaves and social networks.
On the day, the radio station Radio France International, with Radio Montecarlo Doualiya and Radio Unesco will broadcast live from the headquarters of the organization in Paris a program in English, French and Spanish that will air on digital radio, FM, on the platform Connect on Air professional, and at unesco.org.
Likewise, training workshops will be held on topics such as writing for the radio, creating a podcast or presenting an issue with live guests, showing that radio can make freedom of expression available to everyone.
Also in Cuba will be carried out activities on the occasion of the date in stations of the country, including Radio Havana Cuba
