A report published by the Caracas Foreign Ministry denounces Washington's plan to harass the finances, which affects all Venezuelans without distinction of class or political affiliation, particularly to the most vulnerable sectors of society.
The latest Executive Orders close the cycle begun in 2014 with the approval in Congress of the Law for the Defense of Human Rights and Civil Society of Venezuela, and the so-called Obama Decree that defined the nation as an 'unusual and extraordinary 'for American security and foreign policy.
"In total, since March 2015, the United States has issued six decrees that penalize and punish economic activities, focusing on the financial and oil aspects, and de facto establishing a blockade," the text acknowledges.
According to the document, these instruments legalized a policy of direct intervention on sovereignty and internal affairs while deepening the persecution against the Government and the development of the country.
Among the aggressions agenda, he says, the White House promotes the denial of credits, the blockade and the increase in the international financing of the country, which generates gigantic losses.
Likewise, the persecution of the activities of the state oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) produces millionaire losses to the hydrocarbons industry and generates effects on the industry's operational activities.
The siege has had a direct impact on shortages and shortages in key sectors of the economy such as food, medicines and essential goods for industry, he adds.
"Due to the fall in food availability, the prevalence of malnutrition in the child population exceeded five percent of the child population in 2017," the report says.
To this is added the blockade by the US bank Citibank of funds destined to the import of 300 thousand doses of insulin, harming more than 450 thousand patients.
The application of unilateral coercive measures against a sovereign State constitutes a flagrant violation of International Law, the document states. (PL)
