Thanks to Corpoelec's experience, electricity is guaranteed, said Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who confirmed the use of a rifle to cause fire in the transmission yard of the plant.
In a telephone call this Wednesday with the television program Con el Mazo Dando, Maduro said that the attack was intended to leave the nation without light for several weeks.
The inquiries also indicate the probable involvement of a sniper, denounced the head of state, who did not rule out internal complicity in this sabotage, perpetrated on Monday night.
They have set fire to a vital place for the transmission of electrical energy in the country. There had never been an event of this kind, which makes a cargo management plan necessary in the coming days, he stressed.
With this assault, fundamental equipment for electrical stability was seriously damaged, so the authorities implemented an immediate action program focused on the repair of the damage caused in the main courtyard of the facility and the reconnection and distribution of electric charge in the country.
Without pause, the maneuvers ordered by the President were undertaken with results achieved in record time on Monday, according to an official statement released by the Executive.
Barely four hours after the attack, cargo reconnection and distribution began progressively until Tuesday night, more than 85 percent of the territory was fully recovered.
However, on Wednesday morning there was a failure and partial fall of the electrical system due to the instability caused by fire damage.
In this regard, the president said that the specialists will complete the restoration of electricity in the coming days. (PL)
