"This is not a Treaty between Theresa May and Juncker. This is a treaty between the United Kingdom and the EU, which has to be respected by whoever the next
British prime minister is, "Juncker said. However, he expressed the EU's willingness to make "clarifications, clarifications and additions" to the Political Declaration.
May announced her resignation as prime minister, after failing three times in her attempt to get the British Parliament to approve the agreement reached in November with Brussels, says Telesur.
Ten members of the Conservative Party are the candidates for the position of British president. When asked if he has a preferred candidate, Juncker replied "no".
Last weekend, Jeremy Hunt, chancellor and candidate, said Europeans "would be willing to negotiate." While Boris Johnson, the other favorite to succeed May, threatened not to pay the EU the Brexit bill.
On March 29, the United Kingdom should have left the EU, as agreed by the British in a referendum in June 2016. The departure date was delayed to October 31 by Westminster's opposition to the negotiated settlement. (RHC)
