In addition to the activation in May of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, on June 5 the prohibition of tourist trips and cruises to Cuba became effective, in a package that prevents cultural and educational trips from contact with the Cuban people and effects on transport, remittance, banking and business services.
In this regard, the legislator of Unidad Ciudadana for the province of Buenos Aires, told Prensa Latina that the US government is trying to prevent tourist cruises from stopping in Cuba, another action to economically harm the island and deny it the possibility of carrying out commercial and tourist activities that imply the entrance of foreign currency to the country.
This is just another mode of intervention. The United States has that definition of intervening in all the countries of Latin America and in that line Cuba is an obstacle. They try to harm her from all possible places, said Macha.
He also added that the government led by Donald Trump is looking for another way to intensify the economic, financial and commercial blockade that historically the northern nation is carrying out over the Cuban people.
Multiple voices from Argentina, the continent and the world are rising today to reject the new escalation of the United States against the Caribbean island, whose blockade for more than six decades has brought an economic cost of more than 134 billion dollars at current prices.
The hostility and action against Havana corresponds to the implementation of the Presidential Memorandum of National Security signed by Trump on June 16, 2017 and entitled Strengthening of the United States policy towards Cuba. (PL)
