Lawyers demand impartial and fair trial for Lula in Brazil

Brasilia, Nov 2.- Lawyers for the defense of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva ratified on Friday their decision to take measures at the national and international levels to guarantee the former Brazilian president's right to a fair, impartial and independent trial. The decision was made after Judge Sergio Moro, who sentenced Lula to prison, accepted the invitation from President-elect Jair Bolsonaro to be future Minister of Justice.



Brasilia, Oct 29.- President-elect Jair Bolsonaro, from the Social Liberal Party (PSL), who won the elections on Sunday, promised to change Brazil's fate and to place the country in an outstanding position in the world. In his first statements shortly after being proclaimed the winner in the second round of presidential elections with more than 55 percent of votes, the extreme right-wing former Army captain said that he knew “where we want to go”, and noted that “together we will accomplish the mission of rescuing Brazil”.
Santiago de Chile, October 25.- Hundreds of Chileans protested against the private pension system in Chile, in a demonstration that ended with at least twelve detainees after a confrontation with the police.
