Once upon a time a dog connected to the cloud

The new Aibo has little to do with the latest models of this robot-dog that Sony had for sale in Japan years ago. Its design resembles much more to a real dog, and the advance of the technology in these years reaffirms that way.

Despite its small size, mobility again Aibo is surprising. In its technical sheet it is spoken of more than 20 axes of movement in total, and in the video they are enough of those possibilities although they do not stop being movements little fluid.

As for the eyes, is formed by OLED screens, logical, which opens a range of possibilities to gain expressiveness and adaptation to daily situations with their owners, which according to Sony will be possible based on the different sensors (sound and image ) included in the robot, the cloud and, of course, canine deep learning.

For many of these functions connectivity is necessary, which is Wifi and LTE in the new model. In fact in addition to the purchase of the robot, which costs about 1800 euros to change and will be available next January, you have to pay a monthly subscription of about 24 euros to access it from an app on your mobile, make copies of security or control it from a distance.

If in Japan you get to play a lot with your new robotic dog, there are limitations. The battery lasts according to Sony about two hours, we do not know if at full capacity or in general, and the charge takes about three hours.
