Photo: ArchiveSierra de Cubitas, Nov. 7 - When we talk about Fidel, many do it with sadness because he is no longer to advise us as he did before, and others do it with rejoicing, aware that he dedicated all his life to the well-being of children and young Cubans

During a visit to the Orlando González Ramírez Preuniversity, from the Cubitas Community, I spoke with a young and outstanding student of the 12th grade, a faithful follower like thousands of young people from the legacy of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Journalist: What did Fidel Castro mean to you?

Leyanis Martín Sifontes: Fidel is a paradigm for all of us, undefeated Commander, hero, leader, winner of a thousand battles. Students must always carry it in our minds, multiply their example in practice through studying and fulfilling our school duties in contributing to the strengthening of society.

J: How do you think that the cubutiño student body can keep alive the legacy of the Commander in Chief?

LMS: As I said before, the main duty of a student is to study, so if we do that, we are guaranteeing the future of our country. From our position as revolutionaries we must contribute so that their memory and their ideas remain as a guide in the construction and development of our society, ratifying the commitment of youth with the Concept of Revolution, which we sign thousands of Cubans.

J: I admired her answers every time I asked her something new, for her to talk about Fidel is something very easy and exciting because she does it with her soul, the admiration she feels for the man who was born to be eternal in her mind is very great of thousands of compatriots and brothers from other latitudes of the mendo.

When asked what he wanted to study when he finished high school, he answered without thinking twice:

LMS: I want to study medicine, I like to save lives, so I contribute to maintain the first principle of a socialist country like ours that does not skimp on resources to guarantee free health to the people.

For the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, young people always constituted a fundamental pillar for the country, because they are the future of the Homeland.
