Granma newspaper reports that during the meeting both leaders spoke of the excellent state of the historical relations that unite the two peoples, parties and governments.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by Nguyen Chi Thanh, ambassador to Cuba, and other members of his delegation.

On the Cuban side were in attendance Rear Admiral Julio César Gandarilla Bermejo, Minister of the Interior, and other top officials of that institution. (ACN)
