Raúl Castro receives Puerto Rican independence leader Oscar López

Photo: ArchivePhoto: ArchiveHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 27.- Cuban President Army General Raúl Castro received on Saturday afternoon the Puerto Rican independence leader Oscar López Rivera, who was visiting Cuba.

According to the Sunday TV news program, during the fraternal meeting Raul and Lopez Rivera evoked the memory of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on the first anniversary of his death.

In addition, they both ratified the inalienable right of the Puerto Rican people to self-determination and independence.

López Rivera referred to the importance of unity as a way to achieve the decolonization of Puerto Rico.

Cuban Hero of the Republic Fernando González, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, also participated in the exchange, according to the Cuban TV news program. (ACN)
