Cuban parliamentarians recommend demanding more in the issue of housing construction

photo: PLHavana, April 12.- The Cuban deputies today insisted in this capital to strengthen the control methods in the program of housing construction, one of the most sensitive issues of society.
Gathered in the Palace of Conventions in the presence of the president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, the parliamentarians recommended making more integral work in this sense to speed up the procedures and avoid bureaucracy.
They expressed the need to increase the number of stores dedicated to the sale of construction materials that serve the people who receive subsidies to build their houses.
They also proposed to develop the use of electronic commerce to gain efficiency in this process and convert the weaknesses detected into strengths.
The parliamentarians also asked that attention be paid to the quality of the products destined for construction, otherwise the risk of creating an article that will have slow movement or not be sold will be taken.
The delegate (councilor) should be the fundamental vehicle in the management of subsidies and their supervision, all agreed, because this element has a deep knowledge of what happens in their community.
They expressed the need to create mechanisms that allow the hiring of labor from the self-employment sector for the construction of subsidized housing.
They considered it important to create communication channels and better use existing ones in order to inform the population about the details of the sale of materials.
The deputies to the National Assembly of People's Power asked to double the inspection because sometimes some people benefited with subsidies for the construction of their home use those resources in other tasks. (PL)
