Cuba demands an end to aggression against Venezuela

Photo: RHcHavana, January 24.- Cuba has strongly condemned continued attacks on Venezuela and demanded an end to foreign interference in the country’s internal affairs, particularly the latest coup d’etat attempt to impose a U.S.-backed puppet government.
A statement by the Cuban government ratifies the country’s unwavering support for and solidarity with the constitutional government of President Nicolás Maduro Moros.
In the statement, Cuba warned about the true objectives behind the attacks on Venezuela, mainly Washington’s intent on regaining its lost control over the South American’s vast natural resources, as well as destroying the example set by the Bolivarian Revolution, an emancipatory process in defense of the sovereignty and independence of nations and peoples of Our America.
The statement issued by the Cuban government points to the long list of foreign-backed attacks on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, including the 2002 failed military coup, U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of military action against the South American nation, and most recently the failed assassination attempt against president Maduro last August.
Likewise, the Cuban government blasted as “shameful” the aggressive actions of a group of nations and the Organization of American States (OAS), in what Cuba calls their desperate attempt to bring regime change in Venezuela, something Washington and its allies have failed to do because it has crashed against the unwavering resistance of the Venezuelan people and their determination to defend their country’s sovereignty and independence.
