Cuba confirms 718 new positive cases for COVID-19, 22 of them from Camagüey

Photo: MINSAPHavana, Mar 22.- According to the part of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on COVID-19 in the country, issued at the end of March 21, 22 new cases were confirmed in the province of Camagüey, distributed as follows by municipalities:

Camagüey: 17 (contacts of confirmed cases).

Guáimaro: 1 (contact of confirmed case).

Nuevitas: 2 (contacts of confirmed cases).

Santa Cruz del Sur: 2 (contacts of confirmed cases).

At the close of this Sunday, March 21, 21 thousand 483 patients were admitted for clinical epidemiological surveillance, three thousand 588 suspects, 14 thousand 511 under surveillance and 3,384 confirmed active.

For COVID-19 they studied 18,966 samples, resulting in 718 positive samples. The country accumulates two million 807 thousand 130 samples made and 67 thousand 476 positives.

Of the total number of cases (718): 697 were contacts of confirmed cases; 3 with a source of infection abroad; on day 18 without a specified source of infection. Of the 718 diagnosed cases, 372 were female and 346 males.

52.4% (336) of the 718 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating 35,540, which represents 52.5% of those confirmed to date.

The 718 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years: 103; from 20 to 39 years: 219; from 40 to 59 years: 284; 60 and over: 112 cases. (Cadenagramonte)
