Havana, Apr 26 - The call already exists today for next May 30 to hold a new global caravan against the blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States.
Lastweekend, activists in more than a hundred cities on all continents came together in the international demand for the end of the North American economic, commercial and financial blockade.
About these events, Cuban President Miguel Díaz- Canel wrote on Twitter: the global protest against the blockade has become an unstoppable wave; today there are thousands, tomorrow there will be millions and one day it will be all humanity. There is no crime that lasts 100 years, nor is there a sovereign people that agrees to submit.
In the United States alone, more than 20 urban centers had parades of cars carrying Cuban flags, while videos of the participants circulated in Miami, Alabama, Washington, Tampa, Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia, California, Connecticut and Wisconsin.
The activists advocated the establishment of normal relations with the island, without harassment measures, on the basis of respect for sovereignty, with the extension of Puentes de Amor, the name of the project promoting these international caravans, according to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.
In turn, in China, Canada, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, Ireland, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Russia and more than 15 cities in Germany, the protesters raised their voices denouncing the blockade.
Also in Iran, Seychelles, Guinea Bissau, Zambia, Tanzania, Angola, Ethiopia, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia condemned the hostility of the White House, while Mexico hosted the XXV National Meeting of solidarity with Cuba.
This Caribbean country supported the days with caravans in the provinces of Las Tunas, Guantánamo and Villa Clara and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud, a regatta in waters in front of the Havana Malecón and at the national level there was a tweet against the coercive measure.
Solidarity movements such as the Puentes de Amor project, the Europa por Cuba channel, Unblock Cuba and other campaigns reiterated that their activities will not end until the US aggression ceases.
Other actions are being prepared for the month of June, when the draft resolution of Havana against the siege of Washington will be taken to the General Assembly of the United Nations. (Cadenagramonte)
