Sierra de Cubitas, Jan 22. - Consuelo Sánchez Leyva is one of the women in Sierra de Cubitas involved in the noble task of selecting tobacco leaves and grouping them for the export.
This profession according to herself fascinated her from the first day she began working, despite the strong smell the aromatic leaves give off she continues doing her job without being inclined to smoke.
For more than 15 years she has been involved in this task now accompanied by over 40 women who at Camilo Cienfuegos Credit and Services Cooperative are part of the center's workforce.
Sánchez Leyva´s continuous laboriousness turned her into a female who distinguished herself among her colleagues as the "Tobacco Colossus" because she learned as nobody else that occupation skillfully.
Consuelo who spends eight hours linked to this exhausting task is a paradigm to young people who today learn about it and keep the tradition of choosing the best leaves for the exceedingly high-quality cigars across the Cuban board.
