China warns: "Hands out of Hong Kong"

Beijing, July 4 .- "The Government of the United Kingdom chose to be on the wrong side: it has made inappropriate comments not only to interfere in the internal affairs of Hong Kong, but also to support the violent violators of the law," said the Chinese ambassador in London, Liu Xiaoming.
"I would like to reiterate that Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China, not what it was under British colonial rule," said Liu.
The diplomat hopes that a new British government will refrain from interfering in China's internal affairs. "As long as the new British prime minister follows this principle, I do not see any problems in relations," he said.
"In the minds of some people, they consider that Hong Kong is still under British rule, they forget (...) that Hong Kong has once again welcomed the motherland, I tell them: Hands out of Hong Kong and show respect," added Liu. (RHC)
